Wow, I thought I was a tough guy when I ordered level 4!
level 5? That's insane!! Jus for refference, if you're a westerner and see 2 chili peppers on a menu – that's level one (they have normal, and then the scale of 1 to 10) some genuine thai restaurants or chinese restaurants might put 3 chilis on something, and you react 'cause it's not "the usual" 3 chilis? That's level 2.
Level 3 for me, is eat 2 spoons, sweat it out, wait for the pain to subside, blow your nose and then eat 2 spoons again. You won't have any table etiquette atthat point, so it's best eaten at home.
Level 5? Oh hell no.

ココイチの納豆カレーを初めて食べた時は内心身構えてました。
でも納豆の臭みとかはカレーソースの前に中和されてしまってほとんど感じなくて食感だけになってしまって拍子抜けなくらいでした。
以前ハワイに行った時にワイキキのお店で納豆カレーを食べてくればよかったなぁと思ったり。

I can see Satoshi really enjoyed his eating his order of curry dish. While you Sinichi enjoyed your curry cream crab croquette. I think I will order the same thing that you ordered Sinichi except it will be at a lower level of spiciness. However, this was 2 years ago. Do you have an updated one?

The first time I had Curry Rice was in shinjuku gyoen, we had been walking all day, we were really exhausted and hungry, and we found this tiny lunch place in the park, and they had curry rice, never had it before, oh my god! what a perfect meal that was! it opened a whole new world for me, a world of JAPANESE CURRY!!!!

Never been able to get beyond level 7 though.
I'll have to check out a CoCo location when I'm there again. The only curry place I was able to hit up last time was Curry Asano. It's a small mom-and-pop restaurant near Machida Station. Really good curry that had vegetables and pork belly in it, along with amazing tonkatsu.
We finally went to their Hatchobori location for the first time last December. We wanted to try their pork cutlet curry. It was sooo good! Level 3 was just about right, even after a whole pitcher of ice water!!

I miss curry from Japan. I paid 200-300 yen when I was at the Fujitsu factory in 2001. Very good for corporate food.

When I lived in Japan there was one 2 miles from my cho I went there a couple times a week. The food was always good I miss Japan and their food and people.
I regretted not trying any curry last year in Japan. After watching this video I'm sold on it and will be trying coco house when I get there in a few weeks!

Absolutely love coco curry! They are finally opening a store here in London and I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!!! I really hope they do justice to the real flavours of Japan and not the English palate. So looking forward to eating it again!
COCO Ichibanya, my favorite restaurant! I love it and I miss it in germany. I like the "Fried Chicken Salat" and the "Mango Milk". My Favorites are the "Soft boiled egg and Chickenmeatball Curry", the "Cheese filled hamburger curry", all the "cutlet currys" and the "Fried fish curry". The Spice level "Regular" is enough for an european mouth.
